PROJECT 2B:
ORTHOGRAPHIC PROJECTIONS
“A means of representing a three-dimensional in two dimensions along with drawing that communicate the shape and size of an object through a series of related two dimensional views”

INTRODUCTION
In this project, we were tasked to manually produce four pieces of two dimensional drawings of the Farnsworth House. In a scale of 1:100, each drawing is to be drawn onto a piece of A3 sized paper.
The main objective is to develop our design communication skills through architectural graphics.

REFLECTION
This project allowed me to understand the technicality and specifics of producing orthographic projections of a building, as the process was very tedious in a sense where we have to appropriately format and translate the drawing onto the paper. I've also greatly honed my drawing skills through this project as I had to utilise the use of T-square ruler, set squares, and scale ruler in order to produce a 1:100 scale drawing of the Farnsworth House.
Furthermore, I've learnt to take the line weight of the drawings into consideration in order to produce a drawing that can be easily comprehend by viewers.
Overall, this was a very insightful project that I'm glad to be a part of as it has fundamentally allowed me to gain appreciation for architects and designers out there who produce such intricate drawings in order to aid in the visualisation of a building or object.
