PROJECT 2A:
MODEL MAKING
scroll
"scale modelling is used in architecture for different reasons: from the exploration of the form, to the presentation or display of architectural details and correlations."
INTRODUCTION
In this project, we were tasked to produce a scaled 3D model of the Farnsworth House in a scale of 1:100.
The objectives of this assignment is to develop our visualisation and communication of architectural ideas, space, and form.

REFLECTION
Looking back as I've completed this project, it was a much anticipated one compared to the others as I've finally had the opportunity to produce my very first scale model modelled after the ever iconic Farnsworth House.
In completion of this project, I've not only learnt how to map out the dimensions of a building to generate a scaled model, but I've gained a new perspective on analysing the construction methodology of a building, as well as an appreciation for online tutorials teaching on how we can produce beautiful scale models by using the appropriate materials.
Even though my model still has its flaws, the long hours of carefully carving and building the model has definitely allowed me to develop a steadier hand, as well as better sight on how I can visualise form and space.
