PROJECT 01: SKETCHING ANALYSIS

Introduction
The history of architecture traces the changes in architecture through various traditions, regions, overarching stylistic trends, and dates. The historical richness creates a very vibrant architectural fabric. However, many historical buildings may face the risk of being demolished to make way for more contemporary buildings. Thus, by recording, documenting and analysing the buildings, we can contribute to preserve the historical evidence of the valuable historical Architecture.

Learning Outcomes
1. Employ appropriate visual and verbal architectural vocabulary when referring to building types, series and periods.
2. Show the appropriate sequence of historical periods and how they are represented architecturally.
3. Discover the way in which many varied factors contribute to the development of form.

REFLECTION

This was a very interesting and fun project to be a part of as I love ancient and historical architecture. Having a wide range of buildings to choose from, I was able to choose 5 buildings/ structures in which I found the most interesting to do a sketching analysis on.

This project also allowed me to develop my sketching and drawing skills, as I had to analyse every detail of the building and include it into my drawings.

I also gained vast knowledge on these ancient and historical buildings and structures, and their cultural significance and influence to our modern society. It widened my perspective on architecture as a whole, how it brings together artistic minds that create magnificent buildings not only for the aesthetics, but to make the world we live in a better place.
