PROJECT 01: MOVIE POSTER

For this project, we are to develop our freehand drawing skills through a combination of self-expression. This project also aims to develop our skills in colouring media by choosing the appropriate colour palette to capture the essence of our movie poster.

PROJECT OUTCOME

Moonlight Express

Narrative: In this fantasy/ adventure film, we follow a courageous fox spirit's quest on awakening the princess who has been put under a million-year sleeping spell. Will the hero be able break the princess free from her eternal sleep? Follow this exhilarating yet light hearted journey of two young souls in search of purpose.

Colour palette

This is a collage of pictures that have inspired the colour palette for my movie poster. It consists of bright and warm colours, as my narrative has a light hearted tone to it.

REFLECTION

Personally my thoughts on this project is that it was a very fun and interesting take on developing our self-expression as we are able to convey it through designing our very own movie poster. As a movie buff myself, I've always drawn my inspiration from movies, be it the artistic style or the poetry aspect of it.

This project allowed me to not only brush up on my drawing and painting skills, but I've also learnt more on composing a well thought out illustration.

Additionally, from this project I've also had the opportunity to realise my weaknesses and learn from them thanks to feedbacks from my tutor, Ar. Carrol.

Overall, this was a very satisfying project to produce as it was different compared to other assignments as we had more creative freedom with the design.
